GEAR UP PARTNERSHIPS
The College 1st Program has worked for more than 7 years with Texas GEAR UP Programs in providing supplemental support for rigorous coursework, intervention education, competency-based learning, in-demand industry and STEM project-based learning, academic tutoring/mentoring, guidance and advising, college test preparation, summer bridge programming, student leadership, college readiness, financial literacy, and rural school support. The College 1st Program provides GEAR UP families with college readiness training, financial literacy, college knowledge, leadership skills, and academic support services to engage them in their children’s education.

Explore STEAM Pathways: Provide resources and guidance to help GEAR UP students explore fast-growing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) fields, fostering interest and skills in these career possibilities.

Develop Essential Leadership Skills and Success Attitudes: Foster in GEAR UP students the essential 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy, to prepare them for success in college, their careers, and beyond.
