OFF-CAMPUS
CAMP EXPERIENCE

Since 2014, we have partnered with school districts, companies, and community organizations across the Rio Grande Valley to host College 1st CAMPs off-campus. We have hosted Space Exploration and Colonizing Mars CAMPs at SpaceX, Health Professions CAMPs at the UTRGV School of Medicine, and Animal Biology and Marine Biology CAMPs at locations such as South Padre Island Dolphin Watch, Brownsville Gladys Porter Zoo, Sea Turtle Inc., and Alpaquita Ranch. Additionally, we have conducted College 1st CAMPs at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), South Texas College (STC), the Edinburg Community Center, the Mission Public Library, and the Mission CEED Building Classrooms. These off-site CAMPs are carefully planned and coordinated educational field trips, complemented by academic enrichment activities and mentorship experiences aligned with state test standards.
